The main objective of  the project is to create an Innovation Centre in Komárno (INNOCENTRE) which will provide an affordable creative environment supporting local enterprises (including SMEs) and their networks (including specific niches such as start-ups, craft makers, etc.), professionals, education institutions, NGOs and citizens.

The INNOCENTRE will be created by Pons Danubii EGTC in cooperation with Kopint Business Research Foundation. Pons Danubii EGTC will be responsible for construction of the INNOCENTRE and its further operation and maintenance. Kopint Business Research Foundation will conduct a survey in affected geographic area (Komárom-Esztergom, Győr-Moson-Sopron, Fejér and Veszprém county in Hungary, Nitra county in Slovakia) to test whether the services to be offered within the INNOCENTRE will be accepted by potential users and will try to identify their specific needs. Based on the outcome/findings of the survey, INNOCENTRE in Komárno will introduce services, which will match the needs of the local entrepreneurs – potential users of INNOCENTRE.

Within the INNOCENTRE there will be created an incubation and co-working space, a FabLab, a virtual reality laboratory and space for professional events. The INNOCENTRE will be used also as a dual education facility for students of secondary vocational schools in the area.

It is foreseen that implementation of the project will attract additional investments and higher added value activities to the area, especially in the automotive and technology sectors, and further enhance dual education activities and the employment and retention of tertiary graduates in the region.
